As you prepare for your church services this Easter, you might like to consider these videos.
I've previously shared a list of 25 videos for Easter church services, but this is my current list of top picks.
Here they are, in alphabetical order.
Did Jesus Rise From The Dead?
“A mini-movie about death, heaven, and eternity.”
The Fifth Cup
“Time and again the Bible speaks of a cup of wrath which will be poured out against sinners. It is a cup filled to the brim with the perfect wrath of a perfectly just God. The cup of wrath was ours to drink, but in an unimaginable act of compassion, God chose to intervene and take our wrath upon Himself.”
“Throughout the course of his public ministry, Jesus knew both the adoration and desertion of the crowds. Today, just as 2,000 years ago, the gospel asks a question that demands an answer: Will we follow? This video illustrates this truth through the dynamic lens of a 21st-century social network.”
If You Had Been Here
In John chapter 11, Jesus' best friend lies ill. His family beg Jesus to come and heal him. Jesus does not respond right away. When he shows up, Lazarus has been dead for four days. It seems he's too late. But to this tragedy Jesus brings two surprising gifts – tears and triumph. He cries at the grave then raises his friend from death. It's these tears and triumph that we need in the face of our own tragedies.
This lyric video could be played before singing this beautiful song.
King of Kings
“He is the King above all kings, He is the King behind all kings.”
Love Story – The Myth That Really Happened
No Other King
“He is the Father’s Son, Savior of the world, and substitute for our sins. There is no other king like Him, there is no other king. Use for Palm Sunday or Easter. Based on a TheGospelCoalition.org blog post by Kevin DeYoung entitled “Who Do You Say I Am?””
Son of Man
“A wordless film that connects scenes of Christ's life, death and resurrection in order to immerse the viewer in the beauty and single-mindedness of Christ’s work on earth.”
Sounds of the Cross
The sounds leading up to Christ's crucifixion are haunting. But in those sounds, a Savior's love rang so loudly, we still feel its echo today. This video explores those last 12 hours and sets you up for a powerful message about what was to come.
