I'm a missionary (for 30 years). I used to phone pastors to ask them to let me send [free] weekly emails containing bullet-points about the one Unreached People group being prayed for by 70,000 people worldwide, the People promoted by Global Prayer Digest for the coming Sunday.

I got a nice reception, but found that few pastors wanted my weekly help. They were usually not enthusiastic about leading their congregations in prayer, even briefly, for the Peoples who have no gospel penetration, or very little.

But pastors usually wonderful to missionaries, and willing to let them come and talk. Pastors are committed to get their people lifted up by the Word and experiencing an abundant life. Which I admire. I need all the help I can get from the Word!

I decided to promote the cause of the Unreached by a website: prayforup.com The "up" is for Unreached Peoples.

Thanks for the encouragement Mikey - hope this post was helpful for your church! Thanks for posting a link to it on your blog - I agree with the person who commented. It might be better for the answering machine to take all the calls unless the person/s who is best able to answer the phone is able to do so. Better that than being put off by someone who didn't want to answer the phone!
