Free downloads from Pastors Conference

Sovereign Grace is offering free downloads of the sessions and seminars from their recently concluded Pastors Conference. There’s talks from C.J. Mahaney, Jeff Purswell, Bob Kauflin, Mark Dever and more.

Check out the list of all the conference downloads.

Thanks Sovereign Grace for making these talks available.

You might also be interested in John Piper’s talk on “Other ways to feed the flame” from the (also recently concluded) Gospel Coalition conference. I understand all of the messages will soon be available on the Gospel Coalition website, but in the meantime, there are many great resources to explore from previous conferences (along with articles, interviews and more) over at the Gospel Coalition.

You might find the following blogs of interest about C.J. Mahaney and the group he leads, Sovereign Grace Ministries:

    Hope this helps.

I’m not quite sure how these are meant to help, Steve. Will reading these sites edify and encourage the body of Christ? I understand that in any church, people will be hurt and discouraged by other Christians, even Christian leaders. We are not in heaven yet – and leaders face the burden that they will be judged more harshly. But starting websites for ‘survivors’ and as a ‘refuge’ – I’m not sure how this helps, or even if this is a Biblical method for raising problems and encouraging believers. Also, what impression do these sites give about our Saviour Jesus to those who visit these sites who don’t know Him?

If there are abuses going in Sovereign Grace Ministries as so many people share then doesn’t the rest of the body need to be warned? Most posting on these blogs have tried in private going to the leaders only to be blown off and the blame being put on the former member.

If these truly did the abuses why aren’t they seeking reconciliation? Unfortunately I don’t see that happening with the SGM leadership.

These blogs have also been a source of healing for those that have been abused by this group. It has been a source of healing to know they weren’t the only person to experience what they did.

Steve, I appreciate you raising this and discussing it. I really feel for the people who have been hurt in these churches. I wonder what is the best way of caring for them, and raising these issues when the leaders are unwilling to listen – in Sovereign Grace churches, or any churches for that matter?

I can see what you mean about these websites providing support and healing for people with shared experiences. My concern is what impression this might give to those who aren’t Christians when they come across these websites, e.g. would people think better or worse of Jesus as a result of visiting these sites? What do you think?

I’m still thinking this through – thanks for helping me to consider this.
