Yesterday on Australian marketing site mUmBRELLA, an article was posted about the upcoming ‘Jesus: All About Life’ television campaign.
- You can read the article here: ‘NSW churches prepare for biggest ever marketing push‘.
- You can read more about the campaign here: ‘Jesus: All About Life‘ (for churches); ‘All About Life‘ (for ‘viewers’)
I probably shouldn’t be surprised by the responses. Afterall, Jesus promised his followers that just as the world hated him, they will hate them also (e.g. Mark 13:3 and Matthew 24:9). The comments are, on the whole, pretty scathing and cynical. For example:
“What a waste of money. All this coin promoting a make believe friend for grown ups. This is embarrassing.”
Let’s pray that this campaign will bring great honour to Jesus. Launch date: 7 September.

Great comment on the article from Murray:
“Friends, let’s take notice of an important distinction here. Those of us in the churches involved are not trying to sell anything with this campaign. We have no product to offload. You will not find us asking for any money. There will be no exchange of goods or services. We are not marketing. We are simply promoting, informing and inviting. Anyone who is interested can take up the opportunity to investigate the claims of Jesus. He remains, by any calculation, the most influential man in history. Many of us have found in him the key to life. if you are not interested, please feel free to ignore the invitation.”
