At the Engage conference on the weekend, William Taylor shared how he became a Christian. It was a wonderful story that illustrated the power of God’s word, when William’s grandfather sat down and opened the Bible with him (John 5:24-27 if I remember correctly). It was so refreshing to hear how God has been at work.
I’ve discovered two ministries that are sharing video testimonies of how God has and is changing lives.
I Am Second
A project where people – some famous, others you’ve never heard of, share how they met Jesus, and put him first. The videos are well-produced, and communicate how Jesus has changed lives – cured addictions, ignited purpose and provided hope and fulfilment. The website also provides 24/7 opportunities for visitors to ask questions (phone, email and online chat) about what it means to put Jesus first.
One of the most watched testimonies is that of Brian ‘Head’ Welch – former lead guitarist and founder of the band Korn. View Brian’s testimony below, or check out the I Am Second website to check out all of the testimonies:
The Village Church, Texas
Home of Matt Chandler (recently in Sydney speaking at RICE, Engage, Chandler on the Coast, etc) – this church has a section on its website with ‘stories of life change’. They explain:
“Life change is at the heart of what we want to see and taste at The Village. We know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is powerful enough to produce it in all of our lives. We’ve seen it time and time again. Each time we see and hear it, we celebrate and praise our Lord. Take a peek at some of the lives we’ve been blessed to see God change.”
