Follow the Nativity on Twitter

If Mary and Joseph were making their journey to Bethlehem today, would they tweet about it?

I can’t answer that question, but I can tell you that someone has taken up the cause of tweeting on behalf of Mary, under the username Natwivity. Mary and Joseph are tweeting, Elizabeth’s tweeting, and even the shepherds are tweeting!

Check out their tweets here.

What do you think of this use of Twitter? It’s certainly a novel use of social media!

Just a little thing. First paragraph…Mary and Joseph making their way to…Bethlehem, perhaps?

I love your blog…keep up the awesome work!

Good pick up AB, thanks for that! I was reading Luke today about Jesus going to Jerusalem, and got the two destinations mixed up!

Thought it was something like that. I was just tweeting the Natwivity and putting it onto Facebook to encourage friends to follow, and I mentioned Bethlehem, then suddenly browsed back to your page thinking “am sure he said Jerusalem!” lol.

This could be a great evangelistic tool. I have read through and it seems thoughtful and sincere. Will be good to see how it develops and hopefully it won’t be abused. It’ll have its detractors no doubt (cheapening the story, perhaps?) but why should social media be excluded as a medium for communicating this awesome story?

Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Your blog is essential reading, by the way!
