Pastor – my favourite app for managing passwords

My favourite application for managing passwords is Pastor. It’s a strange name for a password-managing application, but it’s simple (no unnecessary bells and whistles), easy to use, and best of all, it’s free!

I am also excited to discover that, Pastor is coming to iPhone. I’m looking forward to having my passwords on my computer, and on my phone. I think I’ve got over 100 passwords for the different apps and websites I use!

What do you use to keep track of your passwords? And don’t tell me you use the same password for every account you have!

I use an Excel spreadsheet for all my passwords. It is also protected by its own password.

I just use my Mac’s built in keychain program (found in the Utilities folder). It’s nice and simple, and already integrates with everything.

Just saw this post on password protection. Perhaps I am a bit behind on this, but how do these programs make it safer. I have just had a look at pastor and the keychain program, and they only use the one password to get into looking at all the rest of your passwords. Doesn’t this make it more risky, if someone hacks into your computer through pastor or keychain, and finds all your online logins and passwords are accessible by the one password. This is just as bad as having the one password for all your online accounts isn’t it? Am i missing something here? I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
