I think there’s a large, ongoing (and very human) problem in our culture that means leads to injustices and inequities of the kinds that would make the prophets baulk and Jesus overturn tables. People just don’t think about others they can’t see.
There are a number of groups which are focused on encouraging people to get behind initiatives to end world hunger and extreme poverty, but for many people these things simply aren’t an issue. Those of us who see that it needs to be should be active in trying to change the culture around us to one of compassion for all the people the Bible says God created and loves.
Please email me if you know of any other resources like this. I’ve been thinking for a long time how I can get this kind of message out to my local (university) community.
