7 creative Easter marketing concepts

For various reasons, my church won’t be running with the ‘Great Comebacks’ campaign this Easter. So, I’ve been doing some research into how other churches will be promoting their Easter services, and have posted some of my favourites below, to help us to brainstorm an appropriate concept for our community.

Which of these ideas do you think are most effective at connecting with people who don’t usually go to church? What works? What doesn’t? You can click any of the images to see a larger version.

    Hi Steve,

In fairness, the blood stain only really works when you put it with the matching Good Friday poster.

The Telegram is cute – but only those >50 years old would remember what telegrams are!

Jesus is = too busy, too much text

He was pierced = nice graphically, but non-Christians wouldn’t get the reference/significance.

Hope is here = on a freeway?

Overall, the Mars Hill Blood Stain (with the Good Friday part) has the most impact and I think would work well for outsiders and church members.

Thanks for your feedback Neil. I’ve continued brainstorming – would love your thoughts on these ideas.

Just had a look at these (after looking at yours) and I like all yours better than most of these ;-)
Same reason as I talked about in my other comment – I just don’t think a lot of these actually speak to where the average non believer is ‘at’ right now.
To an average person, I think they’d think:
    A blood stain = “Why?”
Good Friday/Easter Sunday = “What on earth is the church on about?”
Telegraph = “Well, that’s not for me”
    Hope is here = ???
    But he was pierced… = “Way too many words I don’t get…”
    He Was…I am = ???????? (even I don’t get it!)

The only one that grabbed my attention as seemingly relevant was the last one, ‘The weekend that changed the world’.

2 Cents’ worth again (that makes 4 cents now!)
