What questions might people have before visiting church for the first time?

I’m working on website content that will serve people who are thinking about coming to church, but don’t know anything about church. Here’s a couple of questions:

  • What happens in church?
  • What should I wear?
  • How long?
  • What demographics?
  • Will I have to participate?
  • Will I be asked questions?
  • Do you sing?
  • Why?
  • Where should I park?
  • How much does it cost?

Can you think of any others?

That’s a great list. Others I’ve heard are:
    * Can I ask questions?
    * Can I bring my kids? What ages are appropriate/inappropriate?
    * Do kids stay in the service with everyone else, or do they go to their own thing? And does that cost anything?
    * Are the people who look after the kids qualified to do so?

Which service should i go to are they both the same? (some churches have a contemporary and traditional service)
Where are you located? (we include a link to google maps so they can get easy directions)

I quite liked this site: http://www.ccvonline.com/Arena/default.aspx?page=14902 (the 9th point is a bit weird though). I think it’s good to give a description of what happens, where to go, what to do and what to wear, but also I think that it’s good to be reassured that I’m not going to be a complete alien when I walk through the doors of the church. Reassurance that it’s ok for me to be myself at that church.

Also this one makes me giggle, but I’m not sure how well it goes over with visitors who don’t yet know Jesus. It may give the wrong idea, but I do like the line “Normal doesn’t change the world”. http://courageous.tv/new-here/yes-we-are-weird/
