Ideas to help your church plan for Easter in 2012

As of this Friday, Easter is just 6 weeks away!

To help you plan for promoting Easter services at your church, here’s some links to explore. Also included are links to videos you might like to include in your services.

What’s your church doing this Easter?

Video: 3 Trees Easter Message Opener

Very clever, well narrated and an engaging use of video that’s very different to most of the videos available this Easter. Produced Shirelive.

Two brilliant Easter church websites

OC Easter

This website is best experienced, rather than described. Click here, and start scrolling down the page. I’ve never seen anything quite like it – but I love it!

Christ Fellowship

Another very simple concept – and great from the perspective of usability. Not many links, an edgy video, and a countdown to Easter (for those unsure about when it is!). The only thing it’s missing – are contact details! However, there is a link to the church’s main website.

Video: Follow

Similar in style to the ‘Social Network Christmas‘ video, this video tells the story of Easter using Facebook status updates. Available for purchase here.

6 mini-movies for Easter services (2011)

I’ve shared mini-movies for Easter services before – check out ‘6 videos for Easter services‘, and ‘Two more Easter videos‘.

I’ve been doing some research into videos that we can play during church services on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, particularly those on the theme of ‘Hope’. Here are 6 mini-movies that I’ve discovered – post a link if you’ve come across some other useful resources.

Voices of the Cross (available to purchase here)

Come Awake (available to purchase here)

4 years of promoting Easter services at St Michael’s Cathedral

Easter in just 2 weeks away! It’s getting late to be developing marketing campaigns for this year, but I want to keep sharing what churches around the world are doing to promote their Easter services, so that we can continue to learn from each other. You can explore all posts about Easter here.

Thanks to Sandy for sharing the concepts St Michael’s Cathedral have used to promote their Easter services since 2008. The graphic designer who executed these campaigns is Dominic Kipps.
