Easy Jethro – a new church member database

For a long time, my church used Jethro as our church member database. It served us well, and while we shifted to Elvanto at the end of 2012, I still think highly of the Jethro solution (and Tom, its creator).

Jethro is just about ready to launch a new solution – Easy Jethro.

Previously, Jethro needed to be installed on a server – a bit too fiddly for some churches. With Easy Jethro, there's no installation required, with a very reasonable pricing plan.

According to its website, Easy Jethro “provides fully hosted, fully maintained, fully secure, fully backed up Jethro systems for a very reasonable monthly fee.”

Check it out.

Thanks Steve,
Elvanto looks like it will be more expensive for most churches than Easy Jethro, are there two or three key features that you think might make Elvanto worth the extra money?

Hi Kevin, when we shifted to Elvanto, I shared some of the reasons why here: http://www.communicatejesus.com/2013/04/10-reasons-why-my-church-selected-elvanto-as-our-member-database/. If I were to list the top 3 features of Elvanto, I’d say:

1. Communication tools (easily contacting people and groups, including the use of templates).

2. Reporting (this functionality is powerful, and enables the data to be even more useful).

3. Service planning and rostering. Have this integrated into the member database is very useful and saves both time and money (if you’re using a system like Planning Center Online).

Hi Steve, this is a an old post, but perhaps you will see it! I’m just looking into Easy Jethro and Elvanto, and the 3 reasons you list above all seem to be covered by Easy Jethro as well… do you still think Elvanto is worth 3 times the price as the current version of Easy Jethro?
