“You Didn’t Invite Anyone” – A Lesson For Ministry Leaders

A regional evangelistic event recently took place in South-West Sydney.

The pastor of one church had been promoting the event and encouraging the members of his church to bring their friends. On the day of the event, the members of the church gathered outside the venue. Lots of people had invited their friends. And one of the church members turned to the pastor and

As they waited, one of the church members turned to the pastor and asked him:

“Who did you invite?”

He hadn’t invited anyone.

It was really awkward – why was the pastor asking the members of the church to do something that he wasn’t willing to do himself? What impact might that have on future encouragements for people to bring their friends to similar events?

So here’s what this means:

If you are going to tell other people to do invite their friends, make sure you are too.
